![]() A new device titled 'ASUS GPU: VGA 1' Should appear in iCUE.Ĭongratulations you should now be able to control your RGB via iCUE without all the overhead!Įdit: What to do if the ASUS device sometimes doesn't appear in iCUE after reboot and the RGB doesn't work: Run both of these installers, and restart iCUE. (In this second folder there are also exes for other ASUS hardware - these steps may work for other components too but I cannot test.) Lighting_Control_1.07.84.zip\Lighting_Control_1.07.84\LightingService\LSInstall\aac\AacVGASetup.exe Lighting_Control_1.07.84.zip\Lighting_Control_1.07.84\LightingService\LSInstall\AuraServiceSetup.exe Once you've got this Lighting Control zip, we need to find two exe files inside, and the rest can be entirely discarded. This is what we want to download - not the larger links above. By visiting the ASUS RGB download page you will see at the bottom a small link to "The standalone version of Aura Sync". We simply need to install two exe's found in ASUS's 'Lighting Control' zip. ![]() In addition to iCUE obviously, you actually only need to install 2 very small packages of the whole ASUS RGB suite to make your GPU RGB work. They are the 2 at the bottom of the post. If you're already affected by bloatware, I found two different ASUS-provided uninstallers online which should mostly remove all the ASUS crud off your sysytem. So, I spent some time installing, uninstalling, and forcefully deleting various elements of the software to work out exactly what was needed to install to control ASUS GPU RGB via iCUE, without the whole ASUS bloatware fest. Unfortunately, we still needed ASUS software present to enable this link. Thankfully, recently Corsair enabled support for ASUS GPUs via their iCUE software - something I'm much more comfortable using. The heavier software such as Armoury Crate is even worse. It's an awful experience getting it to work, and the worst part is the bloatware it comes with! Just trying to install "lighting control" gives you multiple different running background ASUS services, and a running component for pretty much every single piece of hardware they offer! I shouldn't need DRAM RGB control if I don't need it. It's all over the place in different forms, including "lighting control", "Aura", "Aura Sync", "Aura Creator" and finally "Armoury Crate". You may have noticed that the provided software for controlling the RGB of ASUS hardware is - frankly - terrible. Please feel free to try the below, but I can no longer guarantee success. CORSAIR iCUE can control the 12V RGB header on a supported motherboard, however, 5V ARGB header control can only be done through ASUS Armoury Crate.Update: As of 28th June 2022, Windows 10 update KB5014666, my GPU has stopped being visible to iCUE again on my machine.Additionally, you may add multiple lighting layers in the first menu and apply them to any of your lighting zones for more complex effects. Not all effects will have this so it will depend on which effects you choose in the Lighting Type panel. The third panel will allow further customization by changing the speed or direction of your lighting effects. You can pick one of our preset effects, customize your own, or use the Lighting Link effects to sync all your iCUE-compatible devices on your PC. The Lighting Type panel will show you a list of lighting effects you can choose from. You can select and deselect the lighting zones you want to customize by clicking on them to see if they are highlighted or not. Every motherboard and graphics card will have different RGB lighting zones, some more or less than others.Click the “+” button in the Lighting Layers panel to create a new lighting layer and you’ll see a couple additional panels pop up for additional configuration options.Open up iCUE and click on the ASUS motherboard icon that should be listed on your profile home interface and select the Lighting Effects tab on the left hand side. ![]() We’ll use the motherboard setup process as the example. The process is the same for both components so follow these steps to customize your RGB lighting effects. ![]() If you’ve got ASUS RGB components like a graphics card or motherboard, you can sync their RGB lighting together with the rest of your CORSAIR gear using the CORSAIR iCUE software!įirst you’ll need to have your ASUS motherboard and graphics card properly set up while having the latest versions of ASUS Armoury Crate and CORSAIR iCUE installed on your PC.ĪSUS Armoury Crate (Left). System builders are well aware of the components produced by our friends over at ASUS. ![]()
